Today, we move to China to see how the Norinco firm modified the design and builds their own version of the 1911. Read on for another LSB journey in firearms history…

The China North Industries Group Corporation Limited, officially abbreviated as ‘Norinco’, is a Chinese state-owned defence corporation that manufactures a diverse range of civil and military products. It was founded in 1988 in Beijing, where it is headquartered.

Norinco built various versions of the 1911 pistol. However today we shall be focusing on the ‘NP44’, a .45 ACP double stack, sport version of the M1911A1. The all-steel pistol features an adjustable rear sight, a target trigger, elongated beaver tail and slide-release and a protruding magazine release button. The pistol comes with two 14-round magazines.
